College students in two personality psychology courses were administered a short extraversion scale and received instructions how to self-score it. The studentsŐ data were used to demonstrate scale reliability and predictive validity for volunteering to disclose information in class. Across two sections with different instructors, students reported liking the activity and believed it helped them to better understand concepts of reliability and validity. The demonstration is recommended for courses in introductory and personality psychology, as well as psychological measurement and research methods.
